Job Summary

The Office of Admissions is seeking a Student Clerk to assist our undergraduate area with incoming calls, emails, and general questions pertaining to admissions. This employee will help maintain student records by reviewing reports/queries, processing documentation, uploading test scores, and updating information in computerized student information systems.

Responsibilities

Respond to emails regarding undergraduate admissions

Provide customer service support at our office windows and via phone calls as it relates to undergraduate admissions.

Maintaining a working knowledge of undergraduate admissions policy

Run daily and weekly queries to update student information in student information systems

Other clerical and office related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current University of Utah student

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to relay complex information to students, parents, and other campus partners

Strong professional writing ability

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software systems

Ability to take initiative and work independently

Strong problem-solving skills

Ability to adapt to changed or updated policy throughout the admissions cycle

Preferences

Experience and/or interest in working with students and/or undergraduate Admissions

Commitment of 15-19 hours per week

Ability to work at least three hours at a time

Foreign language desired but not necessary
