Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.

Empties and decontaminates trash containers.

Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.

Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.

Strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.

Follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste.

Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.

Position-Specific Details:

Location: at Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center

Career Progression Group:Vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Custodian 1 or Custodian 2, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).

Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center.

Compensation:This position offers premium pay for longevity, with rates increasing based on years of service. It also includes shift differential pay, with enhanced rates for evening, night, and holiday shifts.
