The Restaurant Host is the first and last point of contact for guests, providing a warm and welcoming experience upon arrival and departure. The host manages reservations, organizes the seating chart to optimize service flow, and ensures guests are seated promptly while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities: Greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant. Manage waitlists and reservations accurately using the reservation system or manual waitlist. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus. Communicate wait times effectively to guests. Monitor dining room, entryway, and overall guest flow to maintain an efficient seating plan. Assist servers by refilling waters, clearing plates, or resetting tables when needed. Answer the phone promptly and professionally to take reservations or provide information. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, menus, and entrance area. Follow all restaurant policies and procedures to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications: Previous host, cashier, or customer service experience is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
