Job Description
We are seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join our team. We offer diverse specialized services, including Balance and Fall Prevention, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Gait Analysis, Sports Injury Rehabilitation, Spine Rehabilitation, pre- and post-surgical Rehabilitation, and Manual Therapy. As a Physical Therapist at University Physical TherapyChristiansburg, your strong patient population further defines our reputation for delivering effective, personalized healthcare solutions. Your role will enhance patient wellness, making you a valued and integral part of our healthcare team. Our patient-centered approach allows our therapists to spend quality time with their patients while working Monday through Friday, with no weekends. Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop and initiate treatment plans based on the evaluation results.
- Review the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required.
- Provide direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
- Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
- Hold responsibility for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
- Complete a written plan of care, develop goals based on evaluation findings, and develop a comprehensive program to attain goals.
- Implement physical therapy treatment program and provide essential physical therapy treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies.
- Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Graduate from CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Current state of Virginia license and CPR certification.
- Able to create and implement outpatient balance and vestibular rehabilitation-setting treatment plans.
- Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment.
- Possesses basic PC skills and knowledge, including but not limited to Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, Database software, and MS Office.
