Accountant Contract Position
We are looking for a skilled accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Pineville, North Carolina. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's accounting operations within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in accounts payable, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, reconciliation, and vendor payments.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct monthly account and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is properly recorded.
- Handle fixed asset accounting tasks, including depreciation and ledger management.
- Review and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) details to support manufacturing cost accounting.
- Provide support in accounts receivable functions, including credit memo processing and invoice reviews.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices.
- Proven experience in accounts payable, general ledger, and accounts receivable functions.
- Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with a strong attention to detail.
- Skilled in performing reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and depreciation processes.
- Knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modeling.
- Experience in manufacturing cost accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume invoicing efficiently.
