Overview
In 1971, Yale University became one of the first universities in the U.S. to provide healthcare services to its faculty, staff, and students. Today, Yale Health, a not-for-profit organization, serves more than 49,000 members of the Yale community and their families with more than 150 board-certified healthcare providers. Most care and services are provided in our state-of-the-art facility, with modern exam rooms, an Acute Care, an inpatient facility, a diagnostic imaging suite, and a full-service retail pharmacy.
Schedule: Full Time 37.5 HRS; weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Early mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays/recess periods may also be required.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Connecticut State Radiographer licensure and Certification in CT technology.
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT) required.
- Proficiency with CT scanners, PACS, and radiology information systems (RIS).
- Demonstrated skill in applying techniques of radiology in a safe and reliable manner, adhering to required protocols. Proficient peripheral IV skills: insertion, monitoring, infiltration recognition and treatment, and removal.
- Highly motivated, articulate team player with excellent independent judgment abilities, organizational and follow-through skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service and the ability to develop positive working relationships.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting with a calm and pleasant personality.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to initiate and foster effective and appropriate communication among staff.
- Must be flexible and willing to learn new procedures and processes.
- Exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to respond effectively and appropriately when dealing with difficult situations with well-developed critical thinking skills. Professional demeanor.
Principal Responsibilities
- Performs specialized testing procedures appropriate to specialty in radiology.
- Sets up, operates and maintains testing equipment.
- Processes exams and duplicates films, both hard and soft (PACS) copies.
- Instructs and acts as a source of information on testing techniques, procedures and equipment operation.
- Assists in radiology exams as directed by the radiologist.
- Assists management in upgrading equipment.
- Assists in budget development.
- Acts as liaison with repair personnel.
- Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. Maintains disposal inventory per department protocol.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Six years of related experience; four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's Degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Health Requirements
This role is a healthcare worker position. Healthcare workers (HCW) are defined as university employees working a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients, human research subjects or infectious materials including body substance, contaminated medical supplies, devices and equipment, surfaces, or air. HCW have specific health requirements that must be met prior to starting work, including MMR vaccine or immunity, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or immunity, TB screening, COVID vaccine according to University policy, hepatitis B vaccine or immunity, and annual flu vaccination.
