Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior accountant to join our accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the monthly and annual close processes, financial statement analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
-Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end close process for multiple sets of financial statements.
-General Ledger Account Reconciliations: Ensure the timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Prepare and post manual journal entries for the General Ledger. Maintain balance sheet reconciliation schedules for deferred revenue, prepaids, insurance, accrued revenue and accrued expenses, and any other material accounts
-Bank Reconciliations: Verify the companys records with bank statements to ensure financial integrity.
-Accounts Payable: Record bills as they are received from vendors. Perform a 3-way match where applicable. Communicate with the Controller regarding payments coming due
-Accounts Receivable: Application of customer payments. Monitor customer past due receivables and communicate timely with the Controller
-Assist in Annual Audit Process: Assist the controller in providing support for the annual financial statement audit.
-Intercompany Transactions: Identify intercompany revenue and expense transactions to record in the general ledger
-Financial Analysis: Provide written and verbal analysis for assigned general ledger accounts in the monthly and annual financial package. Provide insights into project and revenue stream profitability on an ad hoc basis
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required; public accounting experience preferred
A minimum of 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across multiple departments
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to think strategically.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel. QuickBooks Enterprise experience a plus
