Spyglass Talent Solutions, a retained recruitment firm, has been engaged by a Triangle-based construction company to conduct a search for an Accountant .

The Accountant is responsible for executing core financial functions to support project and operational excellence, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and job cost reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in construction accounting, with the ability to provide actionable financial insights to support company leadership and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and generate detailed AP/AR reports.
• Run weekly payroll and ensure accurate, timely payments.
• Assemble weekly financial reports to support project managers and leadership.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Monitor and ensure timely tax payments and compliance with all applicable tax requirements.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and other reports as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with audit preparation if required.
• Collaborate with project managers and leadership to provide financial insights.
• Assist with assembly of WIP reports and cash flow projections.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in construction accounting is required.
• Experience with Procore, Foundation Software, and HH2 is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of payroll processing and job cost reporting.
• High level of proficiency with Excel and other accounting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with internal teams.
• Flexible work schedule with the option to work remotely, with limited need to be in the office.
