Sr. Tax Accountant

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for federal and state taxes for Toshiba America, Inc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS/BA Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and related business experience.
• 3-4 years corporate tax specialization.
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance.
• Knowledge of ASC 740 (FAS 109), ASC 740-10 (FIN 48)
• Experience conducting tax research.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Superior analytical skills with the ability to consider a broad range of factors and to develop new processes as may be necessary.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade with diplomacy.
• Proven track record of building consensus, collaborating across function lines and developing strong business relationships.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Outlook and Oracle accounting module. Knowledge with OneSource income tax software system is highly preferred.
• Working experience with multi-national high technology sales & marketing companies is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare the federal and state income and franchise tax returns for the consolidated group of companies
• Prepare the federal and state income tax estimated tax payments and extensions.
• Gather and prepare documentation related to the company's income tax provision.
• Assist in the gathering and preparation of the documentation for the annual R&D Tax Credit
• Assist in the process of tax audits with various external auditors and tax advisors, federal, state, and local governmental agencies
• Correspond with taxing authorities to resolve tax notices
• Research federal, state, and local laws & regulations and proactively monitor legislative changes
• Analyze federal and state tax accounts.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
