This position requires travel via car and plane 2-3 days per work week in a multi-state region, typically 1-2 weeks each month, but travel may vary.
Job Overview:
Love's environmental team is seeking a Manager of Environmental Compliance. The role involves leading a team of Environmental Field Analysts to ensure compliance programs are effectively managed. Responsibilities include conducting periodic environmental regulatory audits, training terminal personnel, and communicating progress to upper management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee environmental compliance programs across Love's and affiliated companies.
- Lead and coordinate activities with the Director of Environmental.
- Perform audits and training at fuel terminals in collaboration with the Safety team.
- Provide emergency response training and conduct drills at inland and marine fueling terminals.
- Manage environmental consultants and support large-scale construction projects.
- Prepare sites for regulatory inspections, manage remediation, and oversee waste management.
- Handle discharge monitoring reports and emergency spill responses.
- Maintain environmental databases and assist with due diligence activities, including Phase I & II assessments.
- Schedule and manage regulatory testing, permits, and inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science/Management, Biology, Geology, Agriculture, Chemistry, or Engineering required; advanced degrees preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in environmental regulation.
- Experience with federal, state, and local regulators, report writing, and compliance management.
- Expertise in UST/AST regulations, vapor recovery, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, OSHA, SPCC, and stormwater permits.
- Preferred: USCG planning experience.
Skills & Physical Demands:
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple issues simultaneously.
- Prolonged sitting, some bending, lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication, organization, and independent work skills.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.
