The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional responsible for key operational accounting duties, including the month-end close process, reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role requires extensive experience with NetSuite, a strong background in a U.S. public company environment, and expertise in consolidation accounting and SOX controls.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the month-end close process, including drafting and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and managing accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Maintain fixed asset accounts and perform roll-forwards.
- Manage the cash posting process and account for leases in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Determine and record capitalized software development costs.
- Oversee vendor and purchase order processing and management.
- Record, manage, and reconcile activity for several credit card programs.
- Assist with managing the general ledger coding for the balance sheet and statement of operations.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Conduct financial statement fluctuation analysis and provide commentary.
- Provide support to address internal and external audit requests and inquiries.
- Perform and document internal controls to support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
- Draft and maintain standard operating procedures for key accounting processes.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Extensive experience with NetSuite.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).
- Proven experience working with a U.S. publicly traded company.
- Strong understanding of consolidation accounting, including managing stand-alone subsidiaries and foreign exchange translation accounting.
- Demonstrated experience in an operational accounting role with proficiency in areas such as journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and cash posting.
- Ability to anticipate and meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
- Delivers high-quality service; is committed to continuous improvement.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with SAP Concur and AuditBoard is a plus.
- Proven ability and willingness to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements is highly desirable.
