Position Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the financial, budgeting, forecasting, transaction/revenue accounting, inventory control, capital planning, financial reporting, cash handling, and internal audit functions of Mt Bachelor and Sun Country Tours. Also responsible for ensuring that effective internal controls are in place and comply with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting. This position reports directly to the Finance and Accounting Manager.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • This role serves as a liaison with cross-departmental stakeholders, including advisory and support to the Finance and Accounting Manager, Director of Finance, Resort leadership, and business unit managers in areas of financial and strategic planning.
  • Assist the Finance Manager and Director of Finance in preparing the annual budget and making monthly forecast adjustments.
  • In collaboration with the Resort Leadership Team, prepare the annual capital plan, track and report on progress.
  • Create detailed analysis reporting and discuss with relevant parties on a Daily, Weekly, and Monthly basis, including unit analysis, pricing analysis and optimization, operation and labor modeling, expense management, and optimization.
  • Support company-wide initiatives by independently framing, preparing, and summarizing ad-hoc financial and scenario-based analysis. Identify emerging opportunities and risks, integrating new information into business conditions.
  • Review and audit sources of resort data and implement and improve resort controls to increase accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support resort purchasing guidelines and internal audit procedures.
  • Assist POWDR Accounting in the month-end close process, report distribution, and variance analysis.

Secondary Function

  • Work with other departments, management, and staff to ensure accounting and financial information and related documentation are processed and disseminated, and assistance is given where necessary to ensure smooth, accurate, and disciplined financial management of the company.
  • Maintain professional communication with the resort leadership team and department heads.
  • Liaise with external parties as necessary on financial, tax, accounting, and regulatory matters.
  • Assist other departments as necessary in resort operations as part of the staff support program.
  • Contributes to the Leadership Development series.

Specific Job Skills

Technical:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • All Microsoft Office programs
  • Operating system management
  • Prior NetSuite experience preferred

  • Must have the ability to use touch-typing skills.
  • Must be able to visually review written documents and observe coworkers regularly.

Education/Related Experience

  • Minimum Education: A 4-year accounting, finance, or related degree.
  • Minimum time in related position: 2-5 years of finance experience preferred.

Current Hiring Range: $67-75k/yr (DOE)
