The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Transfer Pricing Tax Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Develop and integrate transfer pricing policies, processes, and strategies that meet the business needs across the organization
  • Lead initiatives focused on the treatment of intellectual property amongst 3M's legal entities and intercompany services
  • Team with outside service providers who prepare transfer pricing documentation
  • Partner cross-functionally with 3M business teams
  • Work closely with the broader Tax organization (planning, provision, indirect, US tax, and local tax) to evaluate global transfer pricing and ensure cohesive planning and compliance
  • Evaluate tax return positions and monitor changes in transfer pricing laws and regulations, communicating and teaming with the appropriate stakeholders within the 3M organization

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Six (6) years of transfer pricing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience with managing global transfer pricing (across multiple countries and regions), including documentation
  • Major in accounting, finance, economics, or Tax preferred
  • Experience from an accounting firm practice, industry practice, national tax practice, or a combination
  • Knowledge of U.S. Treasury Regulation Section 482 and 6662 as well as knowledge of the Transfer Pricing Guidelines promulgated by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities, focused on a desire to work across different functional areas and cultures
  • Ability to manage transfer pricing projects, including managing relationships with external and internal resources, is required
  • Experience in operational aspects of transfer pricing
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency to drive effective change
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the use of tools such as MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Teams to create and share analytics that facilitate decision-making

  • On-site at Maplewood, MN, OR Washington, DC, OR Austin, TX

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international
