Senior Accountant - Private Equity Firm
About the Role
The Senior Accountant will join a private investment firm, in their Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA office. The Senior Accountant will have varied responsibilities including cash reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and accounting and reporting. This position will also have the opportunity to contribute first-hand toward team strategy, including building out new policies, processes and procedures with the goal to improve timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of reporting to key stakeholders. This role also provides meaningful exposure to fund accounting, including fund-level financial reporting, investor deliverables and requests, and internal reporting on key performance metrics at both the fund and portfolio company levels.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will support senior investment professionals in investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management functions of the firm. Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing accounts payable and expense reconciliation
- Overseeing transition to outsourced solution
- True accounting work for management company
- Working with legal on allocations
- Billing portfolio companies
- Managing fund flows through management companies
- Supporting annual tax preparation
- Leading systems migration project for new software implementation
Professional Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferrably in middle-market private equity.
Education
An undergraduate degree is required.
Salary
Salary is $115,000 with $25,000 bonus.
