The George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) continues to be a leader in providing the highest level of quality and compassionate healthcare for the D.C. Region. U.S. News & World Report has just released the 2023-2024 ratings and rankings, in which GW Hospital is recognized as a Best Regional Hospital . GW ranks 5th in the region, which includes hospitals in D.C. and parts of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Summary:
To perform laboratory analysis and administrative tasks associated with the clinical assessment of patients. Performs highly complex testing and coordinates teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science and medical students, residents, fellows, and other hospital staff. Executes tasks required to maintain accreditation with JCAHO, CAP, DCRA, AABB, and FDA.

Qualifications
Education/Qualification
- MT(ASCP) or eligible to obtain, plus five years of Medical Technologist experience, or
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Science plus five years of related experience. As required by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), employees with access to blood irradiators in the Transfusion Service section must undergo fingerprinting and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal background check.
