The ideal candidate will have a robust background in respiratory therapy, specifically in Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics. As a key member of our healthcare facility, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including critically ill neonates and children. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform airway management and suctioning procedures, including endotracheal intubation and extubation assistance. - Administer various respiratory medications such as albuterol, racemic epinephrine, and nitric oxide. - Set up and manage aerosol delivery systems, including handheld nebulizers and metered dose inhalers. - Provide oxygen therapy using various modalities, including high-flow nasal cannula and bag-mask ventilation. - Manage ventilators and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation. - Conduct assessments and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs). - Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in the PICU, PEDS ER, and PEDS Floor environments. - Maintain compliance with infection control policies and ensure a safe working environment. **Qualifications:** - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. - Must have strong experience in NICU and PICU settings—1st time travelers will not be accepted unless possessing a high-level, accurate skillset. - Certification: BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT. - Current North Carolina State License (or compact license accepted pending approval). - Proven skills in airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, and patient care for respiratory disorders such as COVID, respiratory distress syndrome, and cystic fibrosis. **Preferred Skills:** - Experience with direct intubation and neonatal/pediatric transport. - Knowledge of respiratory care for conditions like bronchopulmonary dysplasia and respiratory syncytial virus. **Additional Information:** - Call requirements may vary based on workload. - Floating to different pediatric units may be necessary. - Candidates must be comfortable working weekends, typically every third weekend. - Unit orientation will last 36 hours to ensure preparedness for patient care. **At ARMStaffing, we take care of our nurses!
