Septic System Installation Technician (CDL A Driver)

Position Summary Join our dynamic team as a Septic System Installation Technician, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional septic system design and installation services. You will ensure compliance with local building codes and collaborate with local health departments. Your expertise will help customers manage their septic systems effectively while offering them accessory services and products tailored to their needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate excavators to dig trenches for septic tank installation and sewage disposal systems. Interpret blueprints to accurately determine the positioning of septic tanks and drainpipes. Utilize heavy equipment to dig and refill trenches, ensuring proper placement of crushed rock or gravel for drainage. Safely lower septic tanks into excavations, employing excavators as hoists. Lead and coordinate tasks among team members in spreading materials and ensuring correct connections to branch sewers. Verify levels of materials using surveying equipment to guarantee optimal performance. Work Environment Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, with a focus on safety. Independent work with opportunities for customer interaction and engagement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to collaborate effectively with inspectors, suppliers, and fellow technicians while adhering to codes. Proficient in creating and understanding simple septic diagrams. Strong comprehension of written and verbal instructions as well as technical documents. Excellent communication skills to assist customers in understanding products and services. Capacity to manage independent work and thrive under deadlines. Basic computer proficiency including email and internet navigation. Competency in performing fundamental math calculations. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment is necessary. Previous septic system installation experience is preferred. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are mandatory. Ability to pass DOT drug screening and medical exams. At least one year of CDL A driving experience with a Tanker endorsement.
