Position Summary As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will manage a diverse book of business — from professional services to real estate portfolios and construction firms — overseeing accounts with multiple coverages, entities, and locations. You will serve as the primary client contact, responsible for renewals, endorsements, certificates, marketing strategy, and client communications. The ideal candidate brings strong technical insurance knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a sense of urgency. You understand the “why” behind coverage and compliance, and you use technology to make that knowledge scalable. You’re confident in a client meeting and comfortable negotiating with carriers — someone who takes ownership and delivers results, and you are looking for an employer who values your commitment and wants to grow with you.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Service Act as the main point of contact for assigned commercial clients. Respond promptly to requests for coverage clarification, certificates, billing, claims support, and policy changes. Anticipate client needs and proactively advise on risk management solutions. Policy Management & Renewal Execution Conduct comprehensive pre-renewal reviews for assigned accounts, including how to fill gaps in coverage. Collaborate with producers on larger accounts; independently manage smaller accounts. Prepare and present renewal proposals, binders, and comparisons clearly and confidently. Process endorsements, cancellations, and audits accurately through Applied Epic. Marketing & Carrier Collaboration Work with underwriters and marketing reps to negotiate coverage terms, pricing, and retention strategies. Identify gaps or outdated coverage and recommend program enhancements. Submit new business and renewal submissions, including applications and loss run analysis. Process & Technology Maintain accurate client records and activity logs in Applied Epic. Use technology to streamline service, standardize outputs, and improve turnaround time. Participate in continuous improvement of workflows and cross-team communication.

Qualifications 3+ years of commercial Property & Casualty experience (agency or brokerage setting) RI P&C License required (or ability to obtain quickly) Proficiency with agency management systems (Applied Epic preferred) Strong verbal and written communication — confident with clients and carrier partners Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail Ability to prioritize, pivot quickly, and maintain poise under pressure Experience with middle-market accounts ($5K–$50K revenue per account) preferred

Preferred Qualifications Professional designations: CIC, CISR, CRIS, ARM Experience working with regional MGAs and surplus lines carriers Understanding of coastal property, contractors, nonprofits, or real estate portfolios Prior involvement in account rounding, risk assessment, or stewardship meetings
