**Job Description:**
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled CT Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position is a 17-week contract involving a schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The candidate may also be required to cover holidays, on-call duties, and callback requests based on unit needs.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Confirm patient identity and conduct exam verification before initiating scans, ensuring adherence to all department policies and safety protocols. - Collaborate with physicians to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging. - Prepare patients for scans and provide clear explanations of procedures to help alleviate any discomfort or anxiety. - Insert IVs as needed to facilitate tests. - Position patients appropriately, including assisting those with limited mobility, utilizing safe patient handling techniques. - Ensure precise documentation of patient records in the EPIC system, including image identification and proper submission of images to the PACS system upon exam completion. - Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient scanning environment.
**Requirements:** - Completion of formal training from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. - Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). - Valid New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to starting the position). - Minimum of two years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
**Preferred Qualifications:** - Injection certification (willingness to complete during orientation). - Familiarity with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment.
**Soft Skills:** - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. - Patient-focused and compassionate approach. - Ability to work effectively as part of a cohesive healthcare team.
**Skills and Expertise:** - Level I Trauma Experience: 2 Years Required - CT Tech License (NY ONLY): Required - BLS Certification: Required - Epic Experience: 1 Year Highly Desired - Siemens Scanner Experience: 6 Months Required
