Description WESTAFF IS ACTIVELY RECRUITING FOR KBA/KOMORI PRESS OPERATORS IN THE DURHAM AREA $35.00/45.00 per hour/depending on experience. Hours: 1 ST 7am-7pm rotating shifts or 7am-7pm non-rotating 2 nd 7pm-7am rotating shifts PRESS ASSISTANT DUTIES: Set up & adjust KBA (Koenig & Bauer) /Komori presses for job runs to meet specifications. Preform document review to ensure job requirements are known and understood Monitor product quality during production runs. Check product quality against the sample and establish quality standards and make corrections as necessary. Perform press repairs, maintenance, upkeep and cleaning. Follow Press room procedures for control sheets, charging time & material, load tags, FSC stock and samples. Comprehensive knowledge of maintainability of different paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors to be able to identify paper conditions (i.e. excessive moisture or curling that frequently requires additional machine adjustment). Skills in making difficult adjustments to powered machines using hand tools (i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) as well as more specialized hand tools usually furnished by the machine manufacturer, Maintain acceptable productivity standards while minimizing raw material waste. Oral and written communication skills a must. Keep work area clean and picked up. Handling large amounts of paper and paper rolls, load on machines. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Warehouse experience-building pallets, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in a printing environment required. Experience a must in operating KBA (Koenig & Bauer) /Komori presses Experience in the operations of various hand tools preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment.
