Job Description:

  • Lead structural and system design for curtain wall and façade engineering projects, ensuring high standards in design integrity and performance.
  • Collaborate with fabrication teams to engineer and optimize aluminum and glazing systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
  • Coordinate with clients and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of products.
  • Provide expert consulting on exterior systems in accordance with local building codes.
  • Review system shop drawings for structural and code compliance using advanced CAD software.
  • Prepare shop drawings, including building floor plans, elevations, and installation details.
  • Perform calculations and analyses of structural members in aluminum, steel, and glass, including designing connections based on loads and constructability.
  • Conduct onsite inspections and field testing of building envelope components, including glass and glazing, waterproofing, and roofing systems.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards, including energy efficiency and sustainability requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (specialty in facade engineering preferred).
  • Proficiency in CAD and structural drawing software (e.g., MIDAS Gen, ETABS, SAP2000).
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturers.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Expertise in aluminum/glass/steel specifications.
  • Experience managing or contributing to projects from design through fabrication and construction.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in facade engineering or building envelope systems.
  • Familiarity with U.S. construction documentation and codes (IBC, ASCE, ASTM).
  • Patent or product development experience.
  • Prior training or teaching experience in CAD or architectural engineering.
