Our client is seeking a results-driven CAD Designer with specialized experience in metal fabrication and cost estimation . This role requires a deep understanding of design and fabrication processes, along with the ability to analyze and optimize costs associated with materials, labor, and manufacturing methods. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between engineering, production, and finance to support efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality product development and manufacturing.


  • Key Responsibilities: Design components and assemblies for fabrication using sheet metal, structural steel, and machined components.
  • Create detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings and models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for fabricated parts and assemblies, including materials, labor, machining, finishing, and subcontracted operations.
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine material requirements and production processes.
  • Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to validate pricing data, vendor quotes, and cost breakdowns.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through design optimization, material selection, and process improvements.
  • Support quoting processes and provide timely cost data for proposals, bids, and customer inquiries.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to align engineering designs with manufacturing capabilities and cost targets.
  • Assist in new product development, prototyping, and testing with attention to manufacturability and budgetary constraints.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in CAD design and metal fabrication.
  • 2+ years of experience in cost estimation or product costing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes including welding, laser cutting, CNC machining, bending, and assembly.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
