Description Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed! Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated

Substance Abuse Counselor

to support patients through medically assisted treatment and provide counseling strategies for overcoming opioid addiction. This role involves conducting both individual and group sessions, helping patients manage crises, and teaching effective coping skills. The counselor will monitor progress, complete assessments, and collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and fellow counselors to guide patients toward long-term recovery.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling services at regularly scheduled intervals. Ensure effective and efficient delivery of care for all patients. Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine service eligibility. Develop, review, and update treatment plans with each patient. Complete bio-psychosocial assessments. Create aftercare and discharge plans to support ongoing recovery. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications

Credentialed in Louisiana as a RAC, CAC, LAC, or MSW. Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals preferred. Positive, non-judgmental, and supportive attitude toward patients. Strong collaboration skills with a compassionate counseling team. Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Must be able to work the hours of

5:30am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday Benefits
