Overview
The substance use counselor will assist patients through medically assisted programs and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. Responsibilities include conducting group and individual sessions to aid crisis management and coping strategies, as well as evaluating patients' progress during therapy. The counselor may collaborate with doctors, nurses, and therapists to ensure the best overall treatment outcomes. Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments and evaluations for service eligibility Establish and review treatment plans with patients Complete biopsychosocial assessments Provide individual and group counseling, coordinate services throughout treatment Involve families and significant others in recovery when possible Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed Develop aftercare and discharge plans Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of counseling experience, or Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science with at least 1 year of counseling experience, or Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with current certification (CAC, CADC, or CADC II) and 1 year of supervision experience Experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental attitude towards patients and pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Benefits:
