Primary Responsibilities
DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of KeHE’s health,
welfare, and wellness benefit strategies. Manages relationships with external vendors, brokers, and consultants, ensuring service
level standards are met or exceeded. Oversees benefits compliance, plan audits, and filings including ACA reporting, ERISA,
HIPAA, COBRA, and other federal/state regulations. Directs the annual open enrollment process including project management,
communication strategy, system readiness, and stakeholder coordination. Develops and delivers benefit communications and education campaigns to drive
employee understanding and engagement. Monitors trends, analyzes benchmarking data, and makes strategic recommendations to
ensure KeHE’s benefits offerings remain competitive and cost-conscious. Leads health and welfare plan renewals, including partnering cross-functionally on data
analysis, financial modeling, plan design considerations, and executive presentations. Ensures timely and accurate benefits administration, including eligibility, billing, and claims resolution. Manages the collection and reporting of census and financial data to benefits service providers to support plan administration and compliance. Generates and analyzes ad hoc reports using the HRIS to support benefits administration and decision-making. Supervises a team and drives accountability, professional development, and performance excellence. Supports Total Rewards and HR leadership in cross-functional projects and initiatives tied to employee experience, cost containment, and vendor optimization. Maintains a strong focus on continuous improvement, automation, and process efficiencies. Ensures the confidentiality and security of sensitive company and employee information.
Essential Functions
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of and ability to design and manage
comprehensive health, welfare, and wellness programs with a long-term strategic lens. Strong knowledge of federal and state benefits regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, FMLA,
HIPAA) as well as a solid understanding of insurance terminology and contractual
provisions related to health and welfare benefit plans. Demonstrated success in managing vendor relationships and plan renewals. Excellent reporting, communication, and presentation skills with ability to influence at all
levels. Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights. Highly organized, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple projects with
competing deadlines. Proficient in HRIS systems, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience of benefits management and
administration. 3+ years in a managerial or leadership capacity. Experience in a mid-to-large sized company with multi-state operations highly desirable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
