This role will serve students through in-person and virtual instruction, academic mentoring, enrichment activities, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities,or as directed by the District. Key Responsibilities:

Provide small-group and one-on-one academic mentoring in reading, writing, math, and science

Lead project-based and culturally responsive learning that connects to real-world themes

Coordinate student-centered clubs, academic challenges, and field-based learnin g

Support student voice, confidence, and self-directed learning

Collaborate with teachers to align academic integration with classroom instruction and Alaska standards

Serve as an advocate for students needing additional academic or social-emotional support

Participate in PHlight Club and Camp events to promote SEL and resiliency Record and track student progress using tools such as Hourglass (training provided)

Required Qualifications:

Valid Alaska Teaching Certificate (or eligible for certification)

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build student relationships

Skilled in hands-on, inquiry-based instructional strategies

Willingness to travel for student support and school visits

Hydaburg School is the only school in the District. It serves students in grades pre-K through 12; elementary students and secondary students are taught in separate buildings. EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Certified Position; 190-day contract; minimum 7.5-hour teaching day exclusive of 30-minute duty-free lunch. Salary and benefits determined via the collective bargaining agreement between the Hydaburg City School District and the Hydaburg Education Association.
