The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for overseeing the activities related to the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products. This role ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel to produce quality products at minimum costs. The engineer will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture and fabrication of parts, including estimating manufacturing costs, time standards, and recommending tooling and process requirements. Acting as a liaison with internal and external customers for new product releases, the engineer will participate in the selection, development, and evaluation of personnel to ensure efficient operations. Job Description

The engineer will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture and fabrication of parts, including estimating manufacturing costs, time standards, and recommending tooling and process requirements. Acting as a liaison with internal and external customers for new product releases, the engineer will participate in the selection, development, and evaluation of personnel to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities
Provide significant expertise in developing a range of engineering solutions to improve the manufacture of new and existing products. Improve current production processes using applicable methods and procedures. Transfer new products into production from a 'design for manufacturability' approach. Participate in developing and maintaining documentation for processes and designs. Understand key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish work tasks. Solve problems in straightforward situations and analyze possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Exercise independent judgment and discretion consistently in matters of significance. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required, with the possibility of variable schedules and additional hours.
Essential Skills
Experience with AS9100 quality management system. Excellent working knowledge of GD&T. Self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to establish objectives and specify strategies and actions to achieve them. Experience with marketing support, including meetings, presentations, and customer interface. Proficiency in technical writing skills for proposals and cost estimating. Comfortable working in teams and independently. Ability to make technical, data-driven decisions and execute them with limited management support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial engineering. 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required. 2+ years of experience with composite materials and processing techniques such as autoclave, RTM, and compression molding preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment is a leading provider of complex, highly engineered composite and polymer solutions for demanding commercial and defense applications. The company comprises six purpose-built centers of excellence throughout the USA and Mexico, each strategically focused on serving specific markets across aerospace engines and airframes, as well as munitions, radomes, antennas, and fuel containment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Diego,CA.
