Reporting to the CFO, The Human Resources Director serves as both a tactical and strategic business partner in several key human resources related functional disciplines (Recruiting, Employee Relations, Compensation/Benefits, Employee Engagement, Compliance, HR Administration (including Leaves and Workers Compensation, Performance Management, Departures/Exits, Development and Training). This is a hands-on role; working with people at all levels of the organization. The HR Director originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives across the organization. This individual advises and counsels leadership around providing an employee-oriented; high performance culture that embodies South Shore Star’s core values. This Director manages an HR Generalist/Recruiter, and is responsible for all HR strategic projects and initiatives. The Director ensures metrics are in place to measure HR’s overall contribution the organization’s goals. Responsibilities: ·Build a best-in-class HR function to support the business. ·Manage Human Resources activities and develop strategies that support Star’s vision, strategies, values and student/family expectations. ·Provide overall leadership and guidance to Human Resources function by overseeing key functions mentioned in the summary. ·Lead the talent acquisition efforts and meet agreed upon time to fill rate both in the classroom and corporately. ·Develop and revise HR policies and procedures that are consistent with a positive employee experience, are in line with corporate objectives, and maintain legal integrity. ·Liaise with leadership on key HR and employee relations issues that are having operational impacts – partner on identifying and implementing solutions. ·Partner with the benefit’s broker on ensuring the right benefit plan design, offerings, communications and participation. ·Manage all HR administration, reporting and paperwork, including Payroll/Benefits (with Finance partnership), Leaves of Absence and Workers Compensation. ·Develop and implement a valuable performance review process and cycle in accordance with current trends and industry best practices. ·Manage high level ethics around employee relations investigations while always partnering with Legal counsel. ·Implement and manage compliance efforts with federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to all aspects of the employee life cycle. ·Manage HR related required training at all levels of the organization and partner with leadership on other training needs for the business. ·Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation that could impact the organization objectives ·Manage all HR Technology platforms and systems including upgrades ·Develop and oversee corporate Human Resources SOPs, metrics, and KPI’s ·Develops and implements the departmental budget ·Maintain the tracking of all licensure requirements/training and evaluation processes for the individual programs. Qualifications: ·Bachelor’s degree ·8+ years of HR experience ·Experience in the Education industry is a must particularly when it comes to licensure and evaluation programs. ·The ability to bring immediate credibility to the human resources function through his/her professional qualifications and leadership skills as well as project the highest levels of integrity ·Experience with HRIS ·Strong presentation skills ·The successful candidate will be an influential team player ·Energetic self-starter with a bias toward action ·Objective, decisive and results oriented with well-developed team skills ·Employee relations skills, and sufficient expertise in management principles to serve confidently and confidentially in an advisory role ·Ability to trave to our locations in Quincy, Randolph, and Weymouth ·Position requires the satisfactory completion of a background check including fingerprinting. ·SHRM certification preferred Equal Opportunity Employer South Shore Stars is an equal opportunity employer.
