At MCRT, the Vice President of Single-Family Rental Construction will oversee a Divisional SFR construction program and coordinate office and field personnel with the Division President. This role will work closely with the SFR Development Team and support preconstruction activities, maintaining relationships with partners, lenders, and consultants. Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Manage the efforts of SFR MCRT Divisional construction teams. Manage project cost reporting, schedule compliance, and quality control using various reporting systems. Lead all aspects of SFR development, preconstruction, and construction phases. Direct value engineering efforts to improve construction efficiency. Oversee bidding, subcontractor and vendor negotiations. Recruit, assign, and manage the operations team. Ensure compliance with licensing and insurance requirements. Participate in team building and maintain good relationships with industry stakeholders. Manage the business unit’s P&L and oversee budgets. Ensure safety and risk management policies are followed. Provide leadership in construction procedures, codes, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling. Respond promptly to emergencies impacting projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Some travel is required. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s or Post-graduate degree in relevant fields or significant applicable experience. Minimum 10 years of construction experience, including business operations and preconstruction. Experience in high-density residential property development. Experience managing job costs, schedules, and business units. Managing 4-6 direct reports and multiple projects preferred. Skills/Specialized Knowledge
Ability to build cooperative relationships with industry partners. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Calm under stress, professional communication, and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project, and familiarity with Procore and Textura is a plus. Strong organizational and estimating skills. Compensation Range:
