Seeking a humble, team-driven academic leader to guide our School of Business & Communication with integrity, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to Chaminade’s mission of service.
Chaminade University of Honolulu seeks a leader who will serve as our next Dean of the School of Business & Communication with humility, authenticity, and a collaborative spirit. This is a role for someone committed to advancing our shared mission – not building a personal profile. We seek a thoughtful academic leader who values teamwork over ego, does not inflate accomplishments, and approaches their work with high levels of integrity, self-awareness, and a readiness to learn and grow within a close-knit, mission-driven community.
Rooted in our Marianist and Catholic tradition, Chaminade University is committed to educating the whole person while fostering intellectual growth within a moral and spiritual formation. Our mission and legacy call us to serve our local community through an education that promotes justice, compassion, and civic responsibility. The next Dean will steward this mission while preserving a collegial culture in which faculty, staff, and students care for one another and for the institution we serve.

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will advance academic quality, strengthen enrollment, and develop programs aligned with the needs of Hawaii, our Pacific region, and beyond. This role requires building partnerships with alumni, donors, and industry leaders while also stewarding resources with transparency and fiscal discipline, as well as operationalizing strategic priorities with clarity and resolve.
We seek a candidate with proven academic leadership experience, meaningful faculty service, and the ability to understand the perspectives of both students and faculty. Exceptional communication skills, a collegial disposition, a healthy sense of humor, and a commitment to shared governance are essential.
Key priorities include:
Advancing student success, retention, and graduation
Expanding enrollment and diversifying program offerings
Strengthening industry and community partnerships
Maintaining accreditation and academic excellence
Building faculty capacity and fostering a culture of teamwork
Leading with humility, transparency, and service to mission
Embodying and advancing Chaminade’s Marianist and Catholic mission
