To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed VA physicians who met the initial appointment requirements are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens per VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification. Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and appointed on an intermittent or fee basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred: Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, experience leading clinical services, amputee and TBI experience. Physical Requirements:

Moderate lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, visual and hearing requirements, and emotional stability. Duties

Provide patient care in various clinics and inpatient settings, including Polytrauma/TBI, amputee, and rehabilitation units. Act as a physician leader, providing clinical guidance and ensuring compliance with policies and quality metrics. Participate in interdisciplinary teams and committees, provide consultations, and coordinate care to improve patient outcomes. Support training and education activities, participate in quality improvement, and adhere to medical staff bylaws. Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., subject to change based on needs.
