To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial qualification standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements:

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may be appointed only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved medical school. Current unrestricted medical or surgical license in the U.S. Residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include those by ACGME, AOA, or other recognized programs with verified practice in the U.S. Residents in accredited programs may be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs), who must be fully licensed physicians and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred: Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, experience leading clinical services, amputee and TBI experience. Physical Requirements:

Moderate lifting (15-44 pounds), pushing, pulling, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, vision, hearing, and emotional stability. Duties

Provide patient care in various clinics including Polytrauma/TBI, inpatient rehabilitation, and Blind Rehabilitation. Lead clinical teams, ensure compliance with directives and policies. Perform consultations, evaluate patient status, and coordinate care to improve patient outcomes. Participate in training, committees, quality improvement activities, and continuing education. Contribute to the Polytrauma Management program and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Adhere to Medical Staff Bylaws and participate in hospital activities.
