ROLE We are seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist to support the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC) in Washington, D.C. Your responsibilities will focus on delivering technical assistance to agency staff, maintaining the functionality and security of endpoint devices, managing user accounts across on-premises and cloud environments, supporting IT asset setup and deployment, and coordinating with agency IT staff to address escalated infrastructure issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver customer and technical support by collecting and managing trouble tickets Analyze user-reported issues, identify root causes, implement solutions, and escalate unresolved cases to higher tiers Track issues through to resolution while providing timely updates and closure Provide technical assistance to end users in person, remotely, or via phone or email Administer a hybrid Azure Active Directory environment with prior knowledge and experience Manage users/ devices in Microsoft Intune for MDM, including compliance enforcement, application deployment, and device configuration Maintain identity, security, and policy configurations for Azure AD and Intune Support IT desktop infrastructure and address minor server-related issues Configure, image, and deploy PCs, laptops, printers, and other IT assets Perform data transfers, backups, recovery, and new device setups for end users Maintain accurate and up-to-date desktop inventory records Decommission and dispose of or repurpose obsolete IT assets in line with organizational policy Create, modify, and manage user accounts in on-premises and cloud environments Control access, adjust permissions, and configure user profiles Assist with account recovery and password resets in accordance with security protocols

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Knowledge and skill in administering a hybrid Azure Active Directory environment Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on Windows-based endpoint devices Ability to escalate major infrastructure issues with clear and detailed technical information to agency IT staff Ability to manage user accounts in both on-premises Active Directory and Azure AD environments Ability to configure, image, and deploy PCs, laptops, printers, and other IT assets Ability to perform data transfers, backups, recovery, and new device setups Ability to control access, adjust permissions, and configure user profiles Ability to assist with account recovery and password resets in accordance with security protocols Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1/NACI federal background check clearance

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Experience with Microsoft Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) for compliance enforcement, application deployment, and device configuration Experience supporting IT desktop infrastructure and addressing minor server-related issues

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required Undergraduate degree preferred

Applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
