Senior Subcontracts Administrator
Join BAE Systems as a Senior Subcontracts Administrator in a fast-paced, challenging environment supporting proposals and programs with various contract types. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for coordinating, negotiating, and managing complex proposals and subcontracts with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of business agreements, government and commercial contracting methods, and experience in preparing and reviewing proposals, developing evaluation criteria, negotiating subcontract provisions, selecting or recommending subcontractors, writing subcontract packages, preparing awards, and administering subcontracts, including modifications. The role requires the ability to multitask, work independently, manage cross-functional teams, and assess and prioritize issues effectively. Strong communication, discretion, collaboration, and customer service skills are essential. This position is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week at a BAE Systems office in the Washington, DC area.
The responsibilities include:
Building, reviewing, and approving CPSR-compliant documentation
Representing BAE Systems as the interface between program management and external suppliers
Preparing proposals and business documents such as RFPs, price analyses, and small business plans
Reviewing and verifying proposal accuracy and completeness
Coordinating proposals with internal teams
Negotiating subcontractor proposals and terms
Preparing subcontract documents and amendments, ensuring compliance with prime contract requirements
Preparing reports and contractual correspondence
Advising on contract and subcontract requirements
Performing price analyses for reasonableness
Closing out subcontracts and managing documentation
Performing additional related duties as needed
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree and at least four years of industry experience in federal government contracting and subcontracting
Experience supporting DoD programs
Managing diverse subcontractors, including large and small businesses
Experience with various subcontract types
Proficiency with FAR, DFAR, and defense contracting
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Costpoint
Strong organizational and follow-through skills
Willingness for continuous improvement
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to find win-win solutions with a proactive attitude
Knowledge of CPSR audits and requirements
Preferred Skills
Experience with Salesforce and DocuSign
Pay Range:
$81,156 - $137,964 annually Employee Benefits include:
