Senior Director of Strategic Initiative Implementation – Oncology
Location:
Orlando Health Cancer Institute
The Senior Director will lead strategic initiative implementation and project execution to support the mission and growth of the
Orlando Health Cancer Institute , with a focus on advancing oncology services and patient outcomes. This role will drive business transformation by setting expectations, organizing resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring that objectives are met with clarity and precision. The Senior Director will also facilitate oncology-specific business process redesign and coordinate change management activities to promote successful implementation and adoption across cancer care programs.
This position requires a visionary leader who can collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and leverage opportunities aligned with the Institute’s strategic plan. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with senior leadership and clinical experts in oncology to champion innovation and transformation.
Responsibilities
Lead, plan, and manage oncology-related proposals, roadmaps, initiatives, and communication plans to accelerate capabilities across the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. Apply strategic thinking and problem-solving to develop patient-centric, cross-functional, and cost-effective processes in oncology care. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance cancer treatment delivery, patient experience, and operational efficiency. Develop and execute strategies to identify, refine, and advance commercially viable innovations in oncology, accelerating them through a structured commercialization process. Lead and participate in complex oncology-focused projects at the corporate, divisional, or site level. Manage multiple oncology initiatives simultaneously, including ad hoc requests aligned with the Institute’s strategic priorities. Analyze and summarize data to monitor and improve oncology-specific KPIs. Navigate ambiguity with a proactive mindset, shaping unclear situations into actionable frameworks. Lead due diligence efforts for external partnerships and strategic ventures in oncology, including evaluation and implementation planning. Conduct post-launch assessments of oncology initiatives, measuring impact and identifying enhancements and ROI. Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical and administrative leaders to develop and refine oncology strategies. Engage senior leadership to champion new ideas and ensure appropriate scope and scale of proposed oncology initiatives. Demonstrate excellent project management skills, delivering oncology projects on time and within budget. Formulate and execute intellectual property strategies related to oncology innovations across the Institute.
Qualifications
Education
Master’s Degree required, preferably in healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare administration, project management, industrial engineering, finance, or strategic management, with a strong preference for experience in oncology or cancer care settings.
