The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking an Assistant State Audit Director to lead the Information Systems Audit Division. This division is responsible for conducting
thorough system audits of entities receiving North Carolina state funding.

As part of our team, you will get to: Uphold professional standards that are used to conduct financial, compliance, and operational audits Direct the strategic designing and implementation for the Information Systems Audit Division Assign work and establish work rules with acceptable levels of quality and quantity of work Present information effectively in a manner suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience Provide guidance and feedback to help employees strengthen their knowledge Ability to present complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand Ability to lead a team in a strategic fashion Intermediate knowledge of tenets of security: confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) Intermediate knowledge of data analytics, CAATs, robotics, and data retrieval techniques to enhance the audit effectiveness for all types of audits Bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of experience in auditing/accounting, including three years serving in a role as an audit lead or supervisor
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience
AND
A Certified Public Accountant license issued by the State of North Carolina or eight years of auditing under the Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book)
The Office of the State Auditor uses the Merit-Based Recruitment & Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act (SHRA) with highly qualified individuals.
