Summary As Head of the Freight Forwarding Group, this position will oversee the operations of all Glovis America Freight Forwarding departments nationwide. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Expansion
Lead overall Freight Forwarding (FF) operations Define and execute strategic plans to expand Glovis’ freight forwarding footprint across target regions and industries Proactively pursue new business opportunities with global and multinational customers, including Fortune 500 companies Drive global account development efforts and ensure consistent growth of key customer relationships Lead complex solution sales (e.g., Transportation Management, LLP services) to C-level decision makers
Ocean, Air & Inland Freight Pricing & Network Development
Leverage strong market knowledge and carrier network to secure competitive freight pricing Negotiate strategic contracts with carriers to improve margin and customer value Stay current on freight market dynamics, service changes, and pricing trends to support internal strategy and external communication
Directly support the FF Business Development team with client engagement, proposal creation, and deal closing Coach and enable sales reps on how to position and deliver differentiated logistics solutions Participate in high-value customer meetings, including cold-calls, face-to-face engagements, and custom presentations Operational Oversight
Monitor and optimize team KPIs, performance metrics, and service-level agreements Ensure adherence to SOPs, compliance requirements, and cost-efficiency targets Create structured monthly business plans and lead performance review meetings with top management
Cross-Regional & HQ Collaboration
Work closely with Glovis HQ and global FF branches to align strategy, service consistency, and customer delivery Share best practices and collaborate on global account management, system tools, and market opportunities
Organizational Development
Evaluate current team structure and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and skill alignment Identify talent gaps, propose team expansions, or recommend retraining to meet evolving business demands
Reporting & Strategic Communication
Develop and deliver regular executive-level reports including financial performance, pipeline status, and risk forecasts
Executive-Level Project Execution
Take ownership of special assignments from executive management, regardless of subject matter or business unit Lead exploratory or strategic initiatives that support Glovis’ long-term freight forwarding growth vision
Industry Representation
Represent Glovis at logistics and supply chain industry events, forums, and business networking functions Establish and maintain industry visibility through thought leadership and partnership development
