We are seeking an accomplished leader with proven expertise in real estate operations, team management, and finance to drive efficiency, strengthen governance, and deliver strategic growth. About the Role The Controller will lead finance and accounting, oversee budgetary operations, and maximize the performance of our portfolio. Working directly with ownership, you will help shape the company’s growth, manage a multi-asset portfolio, and ensure all projects and investments deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities Partner with ownership to set and execute financial, operational, and strategic goals, including investment strategies and capital planning. Lead preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and performance reviews; provide actionable insights to improve results. Oversee accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements, cash flow management, and cost controls. Direct real estate and property operations, including asset management, leasing oversight, facilities, and capital projects, ensuring optimal performance and tenant satisfaction. Manage budgets for construction and development initiatives, tracking projects completion on time, within budget, and to specifications. Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and HR to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and uphold organizational integrity. Manage relationships with external advisors, including legal, accounting, tax, and compliance partners. Monitor daily business operations, including staffing, vendor management, purchasing, and process optimization. Hire, develop, and manage a high-performing internal team and external consultants. Establish and implement operational policies, procedures, and internal controls. Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership, providing timely financial, operational, and real estate performance updates. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA, CPA, or other advanced credential preferred. 7–10+ years of senior leadership experience in finance and operations; family office, investment management, or real estate operations background strongly preferred. Proven track record in both operational and financial leadership, with experience managing multi-asset portfolios and complex real estate projects. Expertise in accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or equivalent) and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency. Exceptional analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. Reliable transportation for occasional travel to investment properties and other locations.
