Overview:

The Commercial Products and Infrastructure (CPI) organization is responsible for driving Microsoft cloud & AI capacity, margin excellence, and resource allocation across Microsoft's portfolio. Within CPI, the Resource Investment Strategy finance team partners with engineering leaders to ensure that over $20 billion in resources across approximately 100,000 engineering FTEs are aligned with strategic priorities. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Finance Manager - Engineering R&D to join the Experiences + Devices (E+D) Engineering finance team. Role Responsibilities: Business Health:

Drive process excellence by partnering across Engineering to assess portfolio health, review key drivers, identify opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs. Ensure resources and investments align with business strategy and product roadmaps. Resource Analysis:

Build cohesive stories incorporating business insights through resource allocation and workforce planning. Understand the connection between resource allocation and financial performance. Analyze results to monitor trends and support business rhythms. Engineering Partnership:

Provide strategic leadership to Engineering leaders to optimize resource allocation and investments. Offer visibility into the current resource landscape, analyze macro results, and identify levers to influence decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to develop a CFO mindset, influence leadership decisions, and drive expense management aligned with engineering priorities.
