Job Summary:
Clinical Informaticist I:
The Clinical Informaticist I position is the entry level position for the Clinical Informaticist series. This position has previous IS experience but is learning the duties and responsibilities of Clinical Informatics role. This position is primarily responsible for initial and ongoing education support of physicians and clinical staff concerning the accurate and efficient use of electronic health records utilized by Bartlett Regional Hospital. Performance is guided by competencies to be met and in accordance with the hospital’s CARE values and mission statement.
Clinical Informaticist II
This position is primarily responsible for the initial and ongoing education as well as support of physicians and clinical staff concerning the accurate and efficient use of electronic health records utilized by Bartlett Regional Hospital. Clinical Informaticist II is an experienced informaticist and requires minimal direct supervision. This position performs professional work requiring critical thinking skills and independent judgement to make decisions/recommendations based on their informatics knowledge and experience; has the ability to work within a team and maintain effective working relationships as collaboration is across hospital departments that make requested changes/optimization of the EHR; has the ability to work in multiple EHR modules; provides informatics training in predictable situations under supervision of the Director of Information Systems or designee; works within the EHR ticketing system as well as the Hospital’s ticketing system for issue investigation and resolution.
Clinical Informaticist III
Under direction of the Director of Information Services (IS) this position is primarily responsible for the initial and ongoing education and support of physicians and clinical staff concerning the accurate and efficient use of electronic health records utilized by Bartlett Regional Hospital. The incumbent collaborates across departments to integrate systems and data to enhance patient care, and ensures the software supports the Hospital’s quality measures and outcomes. Incumbent in this position is a subject matter expert in informatics and can work independently with minimal to no oversight in multiple eHR modules under the direction of Director of Information Services (IS). This incumbent is highly intuitive and initiative-taking in addressing and resolving issues. Incumbents assist with project management and change control.
Minimum Qualifications For The Job
Clinical Informaticist
I:
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Preferred Education: Associate Degree in Healthcare, computer science, information systems, business administration or a closely related field. Experience: Two (2) years of previous Information Systems experience such as Help Desk, IT Support, etc. Incumbents will remain at the CI I level for a minimum of 18 months and must advance to CI II within 24 months of hire. Certification(s): None License(s): None Clinical Informaticist II:
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Preferred Education: Associate Degree in Healthcare, computer science, information systems, business administration or a closely related field. Experience: Three (3) years of recent experience in a hospital/healthcare setting implementing, working within, and/or maintaining an EHR OR 18 months in the Clinical Informaticist I role at BRH. Certification(s): None Preferred Certifications: MCSE, CompTIA Network + and/or CCNA License(s): None Clinical Informaticist III:
Education: Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or a closely related field. Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Experience: Five (5) years of recent professional experience in systems administration and/or systems analysis solution design and service architecture OR 3 years in the Clinical Informaticist II role at BRH. Substitution: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or a closely related field can substitute experience up to 2 years Certification(s): At least one of the following: MCSE, CompTIA Network + and/or CCNA License(s): None Internal Hires:
Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rules or union contract terms.
External Hires:
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
Clinical Informaticist I starts at $3,308.00 biweekly.
Clinical Informaticist II starts at $3,888.80 biweekly.
Clinical Informaticist III starts at $4,155.20 biweekly.
