General Description Assure the efficient operation of the Switchboard. Monitor and assure the proper functioning of the emergency alarm system. Act as a receptionist for the hospital by greeting visitors and directing them to proper destinations. Be knowledgeable of various codes and the role of the switchboard. Monitor for the proper use and of any equipment malfunctions of the various communications systems (i.e. internal pagers, walkie-talkies, and overhead paging). Answer phones and direct calls to correct staff members. Will perform other duties associated with the position. Mandatory overtime may be required per operational needs.
Applicants selected for employment must complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug and alcohol screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check.
