is to provide a quality dining experience at an affordable price that enhances campus life and supports the overall mission of the University. It is the responsibility of Dining and Retail Services to operate in a fiscally responsible manner, contribute fair-share support to the University, and sustain adequate reserves for future growth.
The Department of Dining and Retail Services is hiring several LTE (part-time) Food Service Cashiers.
These part-time positions have variable schedules and are subject to university breaks. The break period will vary from year to year, but generally runs from the end of December through mid-January (winter break) and the end of May through mid-August (summer break). Dates and times are subject to change based on the needs of the unit.
Hours of Operation:
MON-FRI: 6:30AM - 11:30 AM MON-FRI: 11:00AM - 4:00PM MON-FRI: 4:00PM - 10:30PM Key Responsibilities:
Create a welcoming environment for guests Provide excellent customer service Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently Maintain a clean and organized work environment including cash register and surrounding area, condiment stands, countertops, and bakery case Replenish condiments, serving utensils, and beverage station supplies Stock coolers and snack shelves using FIFO (First-in First-out) stocking procedures Follow Dining and Retail Services sanitation and safety standards Remain alert and attentive to surroundings and people
Key Job Responsibilities:
May train and guide student employees Cleans and stocks work areas in and around the register Processes customer transactions by performing cashier duties using the point of sale system Interacts with customer, answers questions, and provides information regarding products, escalating questions as necessary Department:

Compensation:
$15.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior experience as a cashier or in a similar role preferred Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand/walk for the duration of the shift, may be 4-6 hours or longer Must be responsible and reliable
