Payroll Analyst

Tax/Garnishments to join our payroll team, utilizing Workday Payroll . Reporting to the Payroll Director, this role focuses on tax compliance and garnishment administration, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.This role involves collaborating with various departments, responding to employee inquiries, and staying updated on relevant regulations. POSITION LOCATION: This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of our headquarters in Deerfield, IL , with in-office presence expected at least 3 days per week (typically TuesdayThursday). In mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, offering vibrant collaborative workspaces, onsite daycare, dining, fitness amenities, and more. RESPONSIBLIITIES: What you will be doing Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations. Address inquiries and resolve discrepancies with taxing jurisdictions and agencies. Reconcile and remit employment taxes; manage quarterly and annual tax balancing. Support audits by producing documentation and coordinating with internal and external teams. Maintain payroll system configuration and integrations to ensure data integrity and compliance. Monitor and improve payroll processes, internal controls, and SOPs for SOX compliance. Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and ADP Smart Compliance to resolve tax and garnishment issues. Stay current with IRS and Department of Labor guidelines; update policies accordingly. Support system upgrades, testing, and year-end reporting activities. Generate reports and conduct audits to identify and resolve payroll and compliance issues QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business or the equivalent in work experience. 5+ years of experience in large scale payroll operations with multiple legal entities Working knowledge of payroll/HR integrations and reporting Strong understanding of payroll accounting, and generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of federal wage and hour laws (FLSA), and state compliance requirements Ability to work in a team environment and provide feedback effectively. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as verbal and written communication skills Workday Payroll and experience with time and labor systems preferred. Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence senior stakeholders. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems. Commitment to confidentiality and data security. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $60,000 USD - $99,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
