About the Role

We're looking for a strategic and results-oriented

Business Development Manager

to drive retail expansion for new product categories across Godrej North America. This role is focused on identifying, pitching, and growing emerging categories-beyond our core multicultural haircare business-through both new and existing retail partners.

You'll be responsible for owning commercial strategy and execution across new launches in categories such as air care, hair color, and other global brands entering the U.S. market. This is a high-impact role that requires strong sales instincts, data fluency, and the ability to navigate complex retailer relationships from setup to sell-through.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth in emerging categories across key retail channels (Mass, Dollar, Drug, and eCommerce). Identify white space opportunities and lead sell-in for new categories with prospective retail partners. Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, innovation, and shopper marketing teams to align commercial plans with launch objectives. Retailer & Account Management

Manage end-to-end retailer setup for new categories: item forms, content upload, planogram submission, and promotional calendars. Serve as the day-to-day lead for buyer relationships in new and existing accounts tied to emerging categories. Lead joint business planning and execution, ensuring both internal readiness and external follow-through. Analytics & Forecasting

Own forecasting, tracking, and reporting for new categories-partnering closely with supply chain and finance. Analyze POS and shipment data to assess performance, identify opportunities, and adjust plans as needed. Develop executive-level reporting to keep leadership informed on progress, risks, and wins. Qualifications

Minimum

5 years of retail sales experience , preferably in CPG, beauty, personal care, or household categories. Strong experience in direct retail selling, managing retailer setup processes, and navigating internal/external cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to launch or scale new products in retail environments. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with sales forecasting, Excel, and syndicated data tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI). Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus. Preferred Experience

Exposure to Mass and Dollar retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target, Family Dollar, Dollar General). Experience supporting new brands or global brand launches in the U.S. Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central, TikTok Shop, or other eCommerce platforms. Why Join Us
