Job Description Salary: $110,000 - $115,000 Job Description - Concrete Estimator / Project Manager
BlackRock Construction, Inc. is seeking to fill the role of Estimator / Project Manager for our Concrete Division to work in their fast-paced, growing organization. This position comes with an opportunity for on-the-job learning, cross-functional training and professional growth. This position requires a minimum of 5 yrs. experience as an Estimator / Project Manager in the concrete construction industry or transferable field experience. BlackRock Construction, Inc. is in the near West Suburbs which pursues projects upwards of $10,000,000 + for large commercial, transportation, utility, healthcare and higher education projects. The Project Estimator / Manager will be a leader in the department and be the owner of several concurrently running projects. The PM responsibilities include assisting with growing a strong, robust department. This position will report directly to the Vice President.
Duties and Responsibilities
Contract Administration Delay and Claims Management Material and Subcontractor Buyouts Project Preconstruction Preparation Project Financial Budget vs. Actuals Management Field Productivity Tracking Project Safety Project Billing and Cashflow Management Change Order Management Project Scheduling Project Closeout Take the lead in project planning The ability to interpret all blueprints drawings Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Prepares cost estimates from design conception to basic design as requested for project purposes Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures costs data is allocated correctly within the construction environment Updates organizational cost standards on a regular basis for new projects Tracks market prices for construction costs, equipment, material and labor
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience as Concrete Construction Project Manager Commercial, Institutional, Industrial experience Willingness to work long hours as needed Ability to read plans and specifications, understand installation drawings Estimating capabilities including labor factor analysis and modifications Microsoft Office Suite proficient, Excel expert
Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree preferred Computerized estimating experience is required
