A publicly traded company is seeking a highly motivated Associate General Counsel to join its legal team and support the General Counsel in overseeing the company’s legal affairs. This role involves providing strategic and day-to-day legal guidance across a wide range of practice areas including contracts, compliance, employment law, intellectual property, corporate governance, SEC regulations, and more. The ideal candidate is a skilled generalist with strong communication, analytical, and organizational abilities who can confidently manage diverse legal matters in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues related to commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, SEC matters, corporate governance, and employment law.
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts including leases, vendor agreements, service contracts, and licensing arrangements.
  3. Conduct legal research and provide concise, well-reasoned guidance and written recommendations.
  4. Collaborate with and manage outside counsel, particularly for insurance defense matters.
  5. Partner with HR to investigate and respond to employee concerns, including drafting responses to EEOC and Florida Commission on Human Rights complaints.
  6. Assist in preparing and reviewing SEC filings in coordination with securities counsel.
  7. Contribute to continuous process improvement and other legal or business initiatives as needed.

Qualifications :

  1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in the Florida Bar.
  2. 4–5+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  3. Proven experience drafting and negotiating contracts.
  4. Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  5. Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  6. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively, exercising discretion and sound judgment.
  7. Previous experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
