As a Workday Payroll Principal Consultant, you will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday Payroll implementation. Additionally, you must have a technical aptitude and be capable of configuring the product to meet the business requirements and design specifications. The Workday Payroll Principal Consultant will “bridge the gap” between the business and technical teams by solving complex Workday intersystem problems

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the day-to-day activities of Workday integrations/Extend support for a variety of customer contracts in roles that may include staff augmentation, ad-hoc support, and project delivery.
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status and escalate concerns to project management.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and educate clients on developing and operating interfaces to and from a SaaS platform.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Workday best practices.
  • Evaluate, communicate, and coordinate the technical impacts of integration configuration decisions.
  • Become a Workday Integrations expert with deep knowledge of core functionality, while building an understanding of Financials, Learning, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent modules, as well as future product direction.
  • Mentor other consultants: actively share product knowledge with others to grow our practice.
  • Work directly with key business and IT stakeholders to establish requirements, consider design alternatives, facilitate discussions, and ultimately configure, test and deploy integrations solutions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience implementing and supporting Workday Payroll, including configuration and optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Workday configuration tools and reporting (e.g., EIB, Advanced Report Writer, Business Process Framework).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design solutions for complex payroll requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across teams and with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design solutions for complex payroll requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across teams and with clients.

Certifications

  • Workday Certified Professional credential (mandatory).
  • Workday Payroll functional certification (mandatory).
