Responsible for completing all assigned projects under state and local income and franchise tax, including compliance, provision inputs, and state audit defense to ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review all state and local tax compliance workpapers, including returns, estimated payments, extension calculations, amended returns, net operating losses, apportionment calculations, and state-specific modifications. Develop and maintain automated return templates for real-time provision and integration of new entities.
- Research and document the Companys tax positions and exposures, monitor legal developments, and update tax policies accordingly. Ensure the Company maintains the most tax-efficient structure through ongoing research and documentation.
- Manage tax compliance software tools (e.g., OneSource Income Tax and State Apportionment). Assist with data management, process development, and collaboration with Accounting and IT to ensure accurate and efficient data flow and reporting.
- Provide technical assistance during audits and notices, maintain audit logs, and defend the Companys tax positions as needed.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing income tax provision calculations, reconciliations, and related workpapers. Support quarterly legislative evaluations, tax planning, and documentation of tax exposures.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: 4+ years degree
Preferred Education: CPA and/or Master of Taxation
Minimum Experience: 2+ years in corporate tax environment (industry, Big 4, or similar)
Preferred Experience: 3+ years

- Proficiency with accounting and tax software, MS Office
