Seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to join our team!

A fast-growing commercial HVAC/Plumbing contractor has an opening for a business savvy Construction Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity with an established mechanical contracting company that doubled its revenues last year and expects to maintain a similar growth pattern for the next several years.

As Construction Accountant you will:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to management team
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, and operations teams to provide financial insight and support
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant industry regulations
• Manage project-specific accounting, including job-cost tracking, billing and financial reporting
• Monitor and reconcile project budgets, ensuring alignment with cost projections and contract requirements

We are looking for a candidate with the personality and experience to meet the following requirements:

• Proven experience in construction accounting or project-based accounting
• Familiarity with construction management and accounting software (eg QuickBooks, Sage, Procore, or similar)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
