Position: Accounting Clerk
Location: Belchertown, MA
Job Type: contract (potential for extension)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Process invoices, reconcile bank statements, and assist with general ledger maintenance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Respond to vendor and client inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve and streamline accounting procedures.
- Maintain organized documentation of financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Proven experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role; familiarity with AP/AR is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms) is a plus. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting. Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors, clients, and internal teams. A high school diploma is required; an associates or bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
